As far as marketing pushes go, Xbox’s latest for Ori and the Will of the Wisps is as beautiful and unique as they come.
As the emotional and heartrending sequel to 2015’s Ori and the Blind Forest nears, Xbox is giving series fans a chance to take home one of 20 limited-edition real Bonsai trees, modelled after the in-game Spirit Tree, complete with a hand-crafted Ori miniature, in an attempt to place the magic and peace of the game’s gorgeous world in your living room.
Those interested in discovering inner peace and cultivating harmony by caring for one of these decade-old trees can find more information and enter at Xbox’s ANZ Facebook page. Each of the Bonsai trees created to represent a donation of trees to Greening Australia, a local non-profit endeavouring to restore and conserve Australia’s native vegetation. It goes without saying it’s a wonderful initiative, and a timely one in the wake of a terrible fire season for the country.
“It is no secret that Xbox fans are passionate about the enchanting universe of Ori,” said Dan Johnson, Xbox Lead for ANZ. “We wanted to celebrate the launch of Ori and the Will of the Wisps by bringing the Spirit Tree right into Australian living rooms.”
Ori and the Will of the Wisps releases for Xbox and PC on March 11, 2020. It’ll be available day one for Game Pass subscribers as is standard for Microsoft’s first-party line-up.
