At DC FanDome this morning, we got our first look at Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The game is releasing in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The reveal trailer is an “alpha target render”.
In the trailer, we got to see Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang. As expected, Super Man looks to be under mind control by Brainiac. When he first appears in the trailer, it appears that he’s rescuing a pilot from a burning helipcopter, but it becomes quickly evident that Super Man will become the Suicide Squad’s target.
The game is a 1-4 player game taking place in Metropolis, meaning you can play it in either single player or co-op. If you’re playing alone, there will be A.I bots that play alongside you. This experience will be dynamic, so you can play some single player and other parts multiplayer. All of levels in the game can be played either in single player or multiplayer, with all players available for all parts of the game.
The game will be set in the Arkhamverse, which is interesting as we now know that Gotham Knights, which is being developed by WB Montreal, isn’t connected to the Arkham games and will tell a completely separate story.
It doesn’t sound like the game will be a Games as a Service title with the press release saying the below characters are playable:
The playable characters featured in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are Harley Quinn (a.k.a. Dr. Harleen Quinzel), the mistress of mayhem; Deadshot (a.k.a. Floyd Lawton), the most dangerous marksman alive; Captain Boomerang (a.k.a. Digger Harkness), Aussie assassin extraordinaire; and King Shark (a.k.a. Nanaue), the demigod humanoid shark and rightful ruler of the seas. Each squad member has their own unique moveset with enhanced traversal abilities to freely explore the dynamic open-world of Metropolis, along with a variety of weapons to customize and skills to master.
