All Of Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 Showcase Announcements

Overnight, Xbox presented their Gamescom showcase and, although they’d set expectations early on about what to expect, there was definitely some cool stuff to come out of it.

We got extended looks at games coming soon, more titles coming to Game Pass as well as a look at a gorgeous limited edition controller.

Here’s everything that was shown at Xbox’s Gamescom conference.

Forza Horizon 5 Still Looks Gorgeous

It doesn’t need repeating, but Forza Horizon 5 is looking to be the visual showcase for the Xbox platform this holiday when it launches on November 9. The game’s first eight minutes serve as a great indicator of this, as we’re transported across many regions of this diverse Mexican biome.

Xbox also announced the cover cars for the game, the Mercedes-AMG ONE, and the 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands.

As if that wasn’t enough, they revealed a beautiful limited edition controller for the game, inspired by the powder fireworks that pop off during the Horizon Festival. It has a translucent yellow shell, a visible rumble motor, and cool lighting effects. You can pre-order the controller from the Microsoft Store HERE.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Is Coming To Xbox Consoles

Xbox has confirmed that Xbox Cloud Streaming will come to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One this Holiday.

This means that not only will you be able to play Xbox games from the cloud on your Xbox Series X and S, those with an Xbox One will also be able to play Xbox Series X exclusive games such as Microsoft Slight Simulator (for example) on their Xbox One over the Cloud without downloading anything. Microsoft has said that it plans to make “many” Xbox Series X|S games playable on the Xbox One using this method.

The Gunk Is Also Landing This Holiday

After its reveal a year ago, it’s been radio silence on this darling adventure from the creators of the SteamWorld series. But the game has reemerged, with the team confirming that the game will launch this December for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Crusader Kings III Is Coming To Consoles

Despite it being proven in the past that strategy games can work on console, it still came as a surprise when it was revealed that Paradox’s in-depth title Crusader Kings III would be coming to consoles with completely reworked UI and controls.

Stray Blade Is A Fantasy Adventure Coming Next Year

It’s an action role-playing game that sees you switch between two adventurers as the world surrounding you shifts and adapts depending on your successes or failures. It’s releasing in 2022.

Sea of Thieves Crosses Over With Borderlands

Take to the seas to get your sweet Borderlands-themed cosmetics, including the Mayhem ship set.

The Wasteland 3 Is Getting An Expansion In October

It’s called The Cult of Holy Detonation and it involves venturing into the Cheyenne Mountain military complex to deal with a cult who worships a nuclear explosion being held in stasis. If that isn’t the most metal thing you’ve ever heard?

Into The Pit Is A Hellish Roguelite Coming To Game Pass

Into the Pit is a roguelite set in a hellish nightmare. It has a retro aesthetic that makes it feel very much like a Dave Oshry game, we’re loving the style of it. It launches on Xbox and PC on October 19 and joins Xbox Game Pass on day one.
