First things first, Happy New Year!
I think it could be argued that we’ve left behind a pretty serviceable year for video game releases. It has added plenty to my backlog. But there’s one thing the streets are screaming even louder and that’s that 2025 is going to go even further and produce one of the craziest years for the medium yet.
With much of PlayStation’s next slate still shrouded in mystery, Xbox’s 2025 showing a bit of promise for wherever they’re released, and the likelihood of a brand new Nintendo console and all that comes with that, I’d say strap in. It’s about to get wild.
And let’s not forget a little game called Grand Theft Auto VI, which will likely slot in near the year’s end just to cap things off.
But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s look at what January is offering to kick off what is a brand new year.
