It’s the early hours of the morning on Monday, June 9th, so that can only mean one thing: the Xbox Games Showcase is upon us.

Unlike the week’s other showcases for PlayStation’s State of Play and the Summer Game Fest showcase itself, which have been scheduled at a respectful hour by all involved, this one is kicking off in the wee hours.

After last year’s monster showcase, it’s hard to know whether Xbox can top that performance; however, we can perhaps at least expect an official reveal for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which leaked ahead of schedule yesterday.

Here’s a rundown of everything that was announced at the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase.

The Show Closed On A Big Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveal

The mind-bending trailer shows the presumed protagonist being guided through The Guild before all heck breaks loose and he’s thrown through a topsy-turvy world that feels much more in keeping with what we expect from Black Ops.

The game puts you in the boots of David Mason, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia.

We Finally Got A Reveal Of Double Fine’s Next Game Keeper

You seem to play as an awakened lighthouse on legs, and you’re accompanied on a journey by a spirited seabird. The world has big Studio Ghibli vibes,  it looks like an absolute must-play when it launches on October 17.

The ASUS ROG Ally X Is Definitely Real, And It Looks Hot

You’re able to download games natively, stream from the cloud, and it seems to offer a bespoke OS that gives you freedom of windows and clients. There’s also two SKUs to choose from, as expected. This is an Xbox. Read more about it here.

High On Life 2 Grinds Its Way To Consoles And PC This Year

The show opened with an exciting, albeit pre-rendered look at what the now-confirmed High on Life sequel could look like. There’s skateboarding, pills, and couples therapy.

We Got The Reveal Of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Surprise, this totally was out of the blue, wasn’t it? As someone who enjoys this world and its characters, getting a spin-off all about Sophia and the universe’s more magical side does speak to me. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is coming next year.

Grounded 2 Is Further Proof Of Obsidian’s Carry Capacity For Xbox

I honestly don’t know how Obsidian is doing it, but Grounded 2 is out July 29.

We Got A Look At Life In The Tangle In Clockwork Revolution

The game is very Dishonored coded, and it’s got a tremendous, pants-pissingly funny sense of humour. We got a good glimpse at several of the game’s systems, including an incredibly layered time-manipulation mechanic. It’s still coming in due time.

The Show Opened With A Story Trailer For The Outer Worlds 2

Obviously, it’ll eventually go on to be the star of the show with its own showcase, but this was a nice opener. It’s out October 29.

Final Fantasy 7: Remake Intergrade Is Finally Coming To Xbox

It’s about time.

…And Final Fantasy XVI Is Out On Xbox Today

It’s about timer.

We Also Got A Look At Skybound’s Invincible VS Game

It looks absolutely brutal. Rather unexpectedly, it’s a 3V3 2D-fighting game that seems to feature the show’s cast. I’ll admit, the first minute of the trailer had me; the second less so. It’s coming out next year.

A New Sea Of Thieves Update Introduces Smuggling

Why not? As a profession, smuggling seems to go hand-in-hand with piracy. Smugglers’ Tide is its name, and it’s part of the seventeenth(!) season.

Persona 4: Revival Is A Gorgeous Looking Remake Of The Iconic JRPG

It was brief, but the noises that came out of Harry needed to be heard to be believed.

Gears Of War: Reloaded Got A Frenetic New Gameplay Trailer

If you haven’t played this game before, do yourself a favour. It was groundbreaking in its day, and this remaster looks great. It’s out on August 26, you can pre-order now to get access to the multiplayer beta.

The game appears to have a lot going on, combining narrative choice with dynamic deck-builder combat in one seamless, action-adventure experience. It’s out next year.

Aniimo Makes For A Cute, Catch ‘Em All Day At The Beach

As a Pathfinder, you’ll begin your journey in Idyll, a dynamic, interactive, and expansive open world. While this looks like a Pokémon-like with real-time combat, it doesn’t seem to breach any copyright as far as I can see.

Harry was quick to note that the starfish was “caked up”.

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive Came And Went As A Blur To Me

The game is an eye-watering mix of bright colours and flashy fight choreography. It appears to be a port of a mobile game and is set to feature four-player co-op.

Gone Fission Is Fallout 76’s Next Update

It’s got fishing and cosy home-building. So that’s nice for those looking to take a break from the vicissitudes of wasteland life.

There’s A Planet Of Lana Sequel Launching Next Year

Be still, my heart. I loved the first game, personally, so to hear it’s done well enough to get a sequel is so great. It’s called Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf, it’s said to double the scope and ambition of the original, and it’s coming next year.

Mudang: Two Hearts Is Equal Parts Shooty And Stealthy

As a third-person action shooter, it looks enormously competent. It’s set in South Korea, and follows a soldier tasked with protecting a K-Pop star at all costs as his country’s north and south verge on reunification.

Heavenly Spear Sure Is An Age Of Mythology Retold Expansion

It brings with it a new pantheon of Japanese gods in a twelve-mission campaign that’ll no doubt please franchise fans.

There’s a talking cat, there’s a lot of song and dance, and eldritch horrors emerging from the ocean. This game is a fever dream. It’s coming next year.

Aphelion Is Like That Part Of Interstellar Where Cooper Was Marooned On The Ice Planet

Okay, not really, but it’s the first thing that sprang to my mind. This narrative sci-fi adventure, developed and published by Don’t Nod, looks great and might just deliver on that same NASA-punk vibe as Starfield.

Elder Scrolls Online Keeps Ticking Along With Its New Seasons Of The Worm Cult DLC

Look, 26 million players can’t be wrong. June 18.

Chronos: The New Dawn Looks Utterly Gruesome

We got treated to another trailer for Chronos: The New Dawn, which is looking more like the Dead Space successor I want every day. It’s set to launch this year in America’s fall.

Beast Of Reincarnation Is A Gorgeous Soulslike Made By Game Freak

Set in a far-off future, this game features huge boss battles similar to what you’d see in Monster Hunter. Explore what it means to be human in this expansive one-person, one-dog action-RPG built around demanding, technical combat. It looks very vibrant, very refreshing, and it’s coming out next year.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle’s First Major DLC Was Premiered

It’s called “The Order of Giants,” and if it taps into the feeling of unease felt fighting in the dark during that one level, we’re going to be there on September 4.

We Got A Release Date For The Ballistic Looking Ninja Gaiden 4

Ninja Gaiden 4 continues to look like an absolute return to form, and it’s a big coup for Xbox Publishing to bring the franchise back to Xbox where it belonged. The game is set for release on October 21.

Meat Boy Plunges Into A 3D World With Super Meat Boy 3D

Shades of Super Mario taking the leap from the second dimension into the third, Super Meat Boy is back in an all-new 3D adventure, and it looks just as bloody and crazy as the originals. It’s set for release next year.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Is An Action-RPG From Rebel Wolves

I glanced away for a hot second and came back thinking this was another Game of Thrones game, but it would appear it’s a Bandai Namco vampire title that’s coming out next year.
