Another night of Summer Game Fest and another night of announcements, this time from the newly capitalised XBOX.
Following showings from both Sony last week as well as Geoff Keighley’s annual bash a smidge after, Xbox took to the stage tonight to reveal a whole bunch of games and hopefully woo the drifting faithful back.
Will Asha revive Perfect Dark right before our eyes? Of course she will! (She won’t). We know that there will be a deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day following the show, and that Persona will probably show up in some way, shape or form. But beyond that, anything is possible!
While it’s kind of sobering to think how little of what was shown in 2024 has materialised, though much of the 2025 showcase has since appeared and/or not been cancelled, so fingers crossed.
As always, this article updates live, so refresh for all the latest updates.
The game looks great, and more in line with the gameplay mechanics of the first game, although I have to wonder where else they can take Senua’s story. I’m sure they have a good idea since it’s literally called SENUA and it’s out in 2027.
While the trailer opened with a serious monologue, the gameplay glimpses show that the trademark humour of the Fable series has remained intact. It’s releasing on February 23rd in 2027 for Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
Not sure why we spent so long on this when it has a dedicated presentation after but that’s okay. It’s looking pretty much as you’d expect for a Gears of War game, though this prequel takes things to a more urban setting and outside of the iconic COG armour. Those who liked the simplicity of Gears 1 will no doubt find something to like here. It’s out on October 6th later this year and will be exclusive on consoles on Xbox.
Previously revealed in a very quiet way, it’s nice to see a proper reveal. It’s out September 29th 2026.
Developed by Toys for Bob, it’s a brand new adventure called A Realm beyond that will take Spyro to new heights, literally. It’s out in 2027 for all major platforms.
Something for everyone really. You’ll visit all kinds of new realms, wield new weapons (including a gnarly spear) and just kill shit. Oh and it has snow, which makes me further ponder why the Slayer is wearing less clothes. It’s out on July 7 and very imaginatively titled Revelations.
Interesting play to release hardware like with Helix, presumably so close but go off, Asha. It’s a transparent green console that looks great and it’s out in November 2026.
The trailer is notably darker and edgier than previous Persona games so I’m on board. Hopefully they find a way to take it beyond the high school setting as I’m totally Metaphor-pilled now. It did not get a date but it’s coming obviously so just be patient.
Not my favourite show closer (much like last year) but isn’t it wild to think this is the first time Infinity Ward has lead a COD since Modern Warfare II? As previously revealed, this one takes place in Korea and is still on track for an October 2026 release and DMZ mode is returning.
The missions have you fighting alongside Sarge in three new missions that take the fight to the skies. It’s looking pretty and it’s out on the 28th July 2026 for Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
The game is a spin off of the Plague Tale games, where you play as the pirate Sophia as she fights through two timelines – the Middle Ages and the Minoan period. It’s looking different to the normal Plague Tale games and it’s out on the 27th August 2026 for Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
I am forever a Kanji enjoyer and I am excited to bring him into this new style. Hopefully it’s a smidge harder than Persona 3 Reload was. It’s called Persona 4 Revival and it’s launching in February 2027.
It doesn’t look like *too* dramatic a departure from the first two games, although the camera feels closer, but if you enjoyed the first two I reckon you’ll enjoy this one too. It’s been six years since this was revealed, which is just wild. It’s out in 2027 for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
It’s called “Custom Seas” and will let you create all kinds of missions, objectives and cinematic experiences for other players to enjoy. It’s launching with Season 20 of the game and will be available on all platforms where Sea of Thieves is available on June 18th.
I don’t remember any of Exodus but this looks much better, I think, maybe. It’s out in February 2027.
It’s a cute little game in which you play as a Magpie looking for their missing flock. That’s really all I have to say about it. It’s out in 2027.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was probably my least favourite Koei Tecmo/Team Ninja joint but I guess somebody must have wanted this. It’s called Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember and it’s out in early 2027.
The game takes a humorous approach to cult building, kind of like Cult of the Lamb but without the cutesy style but just as dark humour. It’s out in March 2027.
I’m gonna be real, I tuned out here. But if you’re a fan this trailer will no doubt help stoke the flames of your passion. It’s called Infestations and it’s out now.
It features a very Fortnite-esque art style which I’m not quite sure about but I’m sure people will be excited to see it coming back. Shinobi was good. It’s called Crazy Taxi: World Tour and it’s coming to all current gen platforms in 2027.
Dynamic. It’s out later this year.
The game has you making a deal with the devil as a magician and it’s made by Uppercut Games, who, if you couldn’t tell from the trailer, worked on the BioShock games at some point. This has potential, and will probably come out before both JUDAS and the new BioShock so you’ll take your BioShock crumbs and eat them Brodie. It’s out in 2027.
The game was originally described as a first person Dark Souls experience when it was first revealed months ago, however this trailer revealed that French superstar Vincent Cassel will be playing Napoleon. It’s out on September 24th 2026.
If you’re still buying these then I am sure you’re happy. I for one am surprised the Thieves Guild have been absent from Elder Scrolls Online for so long. It’s out now.
“Experience the beauty of the United States” they reckon. It’s an expansion for Flight Simulator 2024 and it’s out on July 4th.
This is one of those games that people don’t shut up about if they play so apologies if you’re in the vicinity of someone who does. It’s out NOW for Xbox and the Hidden Mountain is out next month.
This is made by the Dead Cells team which I totally respect but I don’t feel it looks very Castlevania-y as a long time fan but maybe I’m being picky. It’s out on October 26th.
It features a Ghibli-esque art direction and an incredibly nostalgic (kind of) art direction / vibe. It’s out in 2027.
This is still conceptually the most interesting first-party exclusive to me, but I am still not really sure how it flows and/or works. In InXile we trust. It still does not have a date, though it is coming in 2027 and is now an Xbox console exclusive.
