NBA 2k14 Will Not Support Remote Play On PS4

The box art for NBA 2k14 has now been revealed by shoppers in America. An interesting detail is that it does not appear to support the remote play feature on PS4 and Vita. This would be the first game that does not use the remote play on PS4 & Vita.

This could be an error as we can see no reason why it wouldn’t support remote play however it wouldn’t be good to see this sort of thing being neglected already.

  • It is simply not the case that EVERY game supports it unless it uses the camera. Diablo has been confirmed NOT to support it purely based on the fact that Blizzard thought that the Vita screen was too small.

    • So, have you contacted the game's publishers or developers to find out if this is true yet? As of right now, there's one game that doesn't have support, MOST games that do, and one game that doesn't say it does, yet does, anyway.

If you're aiming to be a journalist, BE THOROUGH. You act like you're doing somebody a favor by bringing this "news," but it's not news unless it's confirmed to be as you say.

And that would have been easy enough to confirm, had you done the journalistic thing and ASKED QUESTIONS.

What's that at the very top of the page?

Oh, it's you. Looking like a dumbass.

  • Jonathan, Z, JJ, you're what's wrong with the internet. This article is in no way deceptive. The fact that you've pointed out a possibility of this article being wrong is in no way proof or an argument that the author was incorrect. He gave you information you didn't have earlier.

Don't be so negative in the future. I hope that's clear. It's probably best to wait until your attitude leaves high school to interact with others.

    • "Don't be so negative," you say, while defending an article that posits a negative stance, and doesn't eve bother doing the research to back it up.

Which is all anyone is saying he should have done.

You, my friend, are what's wrong with the internet: willing to accept whatever's written without sufficient evidence to support a claim.

      • For your information we did contact 2K Australia and did not receive a response.

Secondly, a picture is sufficient evidence... We stated that the picture was the only evidence that we had.

        • Did you contact Sony? Did you try 2K's other branches?

The picture is NOT sufficient evidence when evidence also exists for games that DO support remote play but DON'T have their cases labeled.

      • The article doesn't take a negative stance. The "research" you want doesn't exist.
I wasn't asking who the problem was. It's you. It's not up for debate. Don't call me your friend again.
        Do you understand?

          Seems simple enough.

That's what it means to "research" when you call yourself a journalist. You go to the people who might know, and you ask. And if they don't know, you go to others, and you ask. You repeat until you have a definitive answer. That's what being an actual journalist is. Not making things up based on your own assumption.

I apologize for calling you friend. My friends have good sense, so you cannot be one of them.

          • Again, that's not research that counters the article.
You're done, you'll get no more attention. Now post again and claim victory, puppet.

          • Puppet? How imaginative.

How could a tweet that DIRECTLY mentions the game in question not counter the article when it says the exact opposite of what the article says?

NBA2K14 is remote playable, despite the feature not being indicated on the box. The article claims that it is not remote playable due to the feature not being indicated on the box.

Had Shannon bothered to actually do some legwork instead of making a half-assed attempt that culminated in the farce we see here, this "debate" wouldn't even occur. But, as it stands, he saw- or didn't see- something, apparently made a phone call that received no response, and then assumed, "Well, it doesn't say it, so it must not be."

And, as is the case with so many such authors, there are people out there willing to defend him, even when he's obviously wrong.

No, I won't "claim" victory against you, as that's akin to bragging after beating a one-legged man in a toe-counting contest.

          • Looks like Madden sports remote play and has an indicator of that on its box. Don't you look stupid.
            Notice there's no question mark.

          • ... no, you moron. The whole freaking point is that not every box will have it. And a tweet directly from a Sony rep DIRECTLY mentions the game in question IN THIS ARTICLE. Madden is wholly irrelevant.

  • You cant state it wont be supported as fact in your title if you dont know for sure... All you know is it isnt mentioned on the box... Smh

    • We're only reporting what is in the picture. When you have 5+ game boxes that all have "remote play" listed then one that isn't you're going to assume it isn't supported...

      • If only you had ACTUALLY reported what was in the picture, rather than making up your own interpretation of what the picture means...

      • In short why even check stuff right ? "We be journalists about stuff on/missing from a box yo !!!"

      • You literally made my point... You cant "just be reporting whats in the picture" if your "assuming it isnt supported" . You put your assumption in your title as a fact. That's a fail dude

      • Probably because it's a mandatory feature unless your game requires the PS Eye. NBA 2K14 has now been confirmed to support Remote Play, so you should probably update this article.

And use your head next time before you post this kind of sensationalism. Your headline passes this off as a fact, yet in your article you admit that you're only assuming that the game doesn't support the feature.

      • It's supposed to be a no-brainer feature.
Apparently the only thing that won't feature Remote Play is PlayRoom.
