The Australian video and computer games industry generated $2.958 billion dollars in revenue in 2016. This was a four percent increase on 2015 sales.
Interestingly, the Australian industry saw a total of $1.065 billion in retail sales with an additional $1.893 billion in digital and mobile sales.
Traditional retail sales were down 16% on 2015 figures with declines in both the software and hardware category, but digital purchases as well as mobile purchases helped the overall percentage of dollars spent increase.
