Halo 6 Won’t Be Revealed Anytime Soon It Seems

It was said prior to Microsoft’s conference at E3 that Halo wouldn’t be making an appearance. Admittedly, I thought that would wind up being a little white lie. In the end, Halo only appeared briefly as a Halo Wars 2 expansion was shown.

No little hints at the future of Master Chief. Nothing.

Given the rather lacklustre reception Halo 5: Guardians received nearly two years ago now, it seems as though 343 Industries are in no rush to push out its sequel. In a blog post on Halo Waypoint, the team addressed the future of mainline Halo.

“While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time,” wrote the studio’s Jeff Easterling.

“And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon,” he added.

With nothing else to go on, it’s clear Halo 6 will only be unveiled when the team at 343 are well and truly ready. Let’s hope they’ve taken on board some of the criticisms levelled at them after the series’ fifth iteration.
