Call Of Duty Studio ‘Sledgehammer Games’ Is Opening A Studio In Melbourne

Bit of surprise news.

Sledgehammer Games, the development studio behind games such as Call Of Duty: WWII, Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is opening a studio in Melbourne.

The announcement was made this morning by Alayna Cole, who announced that she was the first official hire for the studio.

We’ve confirmed at this point that this is a fully-fledged studio that will be located in Melbourne with more information to come in the very near future. Speaking to Alayna Cole this morning, she was particularly excited at the prospect of having a studio locally, that could provide a starting point for those studying Games Design, through the means of internships and other training programs that will help act as a stepping stone into our local games industry.

It’s extremely exciting for the Australian games scene, and is no doubt going to inject some life locally.
