To close out this morning’s DC Fandome, The Batman’s writer and director Matt Reeves, alongside Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz, introduced the second trailer for the film, which has become the biggest in DC’s upcoming slate of films.
The trailer is absolutely spectacular and shows the film off as a more gritty and grounded Batman than we’re used to. It’s loosely adapted from Year One, which shows a Batman still in his infancy as a watchful protector without having to retread the same origins we’re tired of.
The trailer also gives us our first look at Paul Dano outside of his Riddler outfit, although it’s only a side view. It also gives us a little more of Colin Farrell’s Penguin, as well as Andy Serkis as Batman’s faithful butler, Alfred.
The Batman releases on March 4, 2022. Like other films under the Warner Bros. umbrella, the film will come to HBO Max for a limited time at release.
