Marvel Is Announcing A New Game Tomorrow And It Could Be An Overwatch-Style Multiplayer Shooter

Overnight, Marvel has dropped a hint of a tease of a brand-new mystery video game, which it’s promised it will be revealing tomorrow.

In a post on X, the official Marvel Games account shared the simple message, “An evil experiment has caused a unique disruption in the timestream. Who will be pulled into this epic showdown?” along with some silhouetted art featuring a number of heroes from across the Marvel universe, suggesting we may be looking at some kind of hero-driven multiplayer situation.

It’s only been in recent days that rumours of a Netease-developed multiplayer Marvel shooter for mobile and consoles have begun to swirl, with many of the characters named in those claims matching what’s seen in this obscured key art, so it could very well be that those reports have been accurate and what we’ll see announced is a third-person, Overwatch-style (literal) hero shooter featuring a roster of iconic Marvel heroes.

The full reveal is happening at 2AM AEDT tomorrow, March 28th, so we’ll certainly know more then.

Marvel’s been talking big in the video game space recently, with the full reveal of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the new cinematic action adventure title from the legendary Amy Hennig’s studio, Skydance New Media.

The game, which is targeting a 2025 release, is a single-player AAA title that will star four lead heroes including Black Panther (played by Khary Payton), Captain America (played by Drew Moerlein), Nanali (played by Megalyn Echikunwoke) and Gabriel Jones (played by Marque Richardson).

The game’s synopsis reads, “In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.”
