Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra Is Skydance’s New AAA Marvel Game And The First Trailer Is Here

Looks great!

It’s been a little while since we heard anything about the upcoming new AAA Marvel title from the Amy Hennig-led Skydance New Media, but today’s State of Unreal 2024 GDC presentation happened to bring with it not just a fresh glimpse at the game but a full story trailer complete with the game’s actual title – Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

The game, which is targeting a 2025 release, will star four lead heroes including Black Panther (played by Khary Payton), Captain America (played by Drew Moerlein), Nanali (played by Megalyn Echikunwoke) and Gabriel Jones (played by Marque Richardson). Despite having four leads, it’s been confirmed in the past that this will not be a co-op game.

The new story trailer sets up the scene in this WWII-era Marvel adventure, is supposedly running in real-time in Unreal Engine 5 (at least in parts), which had its big 5.4 update revealed in the same GDC presentation. It looks phenomenal, and in particular the four leads and their actors look and sound fantastic. Check it out:

The game’s synopsis reads, “In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.”
