Ubisoft has finally lifted the lid Assassin’s Creed Shadows, dropping a debut trailer along with the first crucial bits of information like the game’s premise, characters, release date and various editions, and with it we now have confirmation of the platforms that the game will be releasing on.
Perhaps coming as no surprise, but still a significant change from the most recent entries in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is officially skipping the last-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles and releasing exclusively on the current generation. The game will launch on November 15th (or 12th for the shiny special editions) for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mac (with Apple Silicon) and Amazon Luna.
Given what Ubisoft has said about the game so far, including an open world that features changing seasons and dynamic weather, as well as the fact that it’s more than likely set to be a launching pad for the Assassin’s Creed Infinity platform, and just the fact that we’re nearly four years into the life cycle of the current consoles now, it makes a lot of sense that we’re finally seeing the series break away from the previous generation of hardware.
We’re yet to see actual gameplay to get an idea of the full impact this could have on how the games look and play, but Ubisoft has already dropped an debut cinematic trailer. You can watch that below, and you can find all of the information on the release and various special editions right here.
