The First Funko Fusion Gameplay Looks Like A More Violent LEGO Game

Making heads Pop!

Although it’s only a couple of minutes long, 10:10 Games has revealed the first proper look at gameplay for Funko Fusion, its upcoming co-operative action adventure game based on the iconic Funko! Pop line of vinyl toys and the many, many pop culture properties they inhabit.

Given that it comes from a team with a heap of history in the big-name LEGO games, it’s no surprise that Funko Fusion bears a lot of the same qualities as those titles, with third-person action, platforming and puzzles that are silly and over-the-top with support for multiple players. Unlike LEGO, this one’s a touch more violent and seemingly geared toward an older audience based on the initial run of franchises and a heavy emphasis on gunplay.

Still, it’s definitely got the pick-up-and-play nature that you’d expect, and visually it’s an interesting mix of “realistic” environments and the hyper-stylised pops with their big heads and soulless, corporate-approved eyes. The trailer features scenes and characters from Jurassic Park, Chucky, Battlestar Galactica, Shaun of the Dead, Masters of the Universe, The Thing and more.

You can pre-order Funko Fusion right here ahead of its launch on September 13th, and watch the gameplay reveal video below:
