Frontier Developments has opened the gates to its next big theme park sim/management release, Planet Coaster 2, a sequel to the hugely successful original that first launched on PC in 2016 before arriving on consoles four years later in 2020.
And in even better news, Planet Coaster 2 is coming later this year to PC and consoles with a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release.
Frontier’s ambitions with this new entry seem pretty straightforward – a bigger, better iteration on what made the first Planet Coaster great that adds new features aimed at filling gaps from before. Things like updated path finding, plazas, an event sequencer, new management features and UI and massive updates to park customisation. It’s also going all-in on water, with players able to build combined coaster and water parks.
Online features will also allow players to build asynchronously in shared parks across platforms, create and upload new things for others to put in their parks or simply visit other parks for fun and inspiration.
