What games have Aussie and New Zealand players been picking up most in recent weeks? That’s the question we’re answering every week with thanks to the weekly Top 10 ANZ Games Charts from the folks over at the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA).
The latest report, which comes from the week ending July 7th, 2024, really hasn’t seen much of a change from the previous couple of lists. Elden Ring remains on top, and the remainder of the Top 5 is stacked with the same games we see week in and week out – titles like Grand Theft Auto V, EA Sports FC24 and NBA 2K24. Evergreen stuff, essentially. The iconic Green Mario has managed to stick around yet again, with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD holding the 6th spot.
We’re definitely at a point in the year where the whole Top 10 is going to be populated with those consistent heavy hitters, with few major new releases to really break through. The fallout of EOY and early FY sales with discounts on popular consoles, games and bundles means we’ll see more legacy stuff continue to creep in and out – case in point Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Switch version of Minecraft in this week’s list. Our pals over in NZ seem to still be dining on bargain basement goodies like Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Batman: Arkham Knight, too.
