What games have Aussie and New Zealand players been picking up most in recent weeks? That’s the question we’re answering every week with thanks to the weekly Top 10 ANZ Games Charts from the folks over at the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA).
After a predictable week last week that came off the back of Everybody 1-2 Switch managing to crack the top spot out of nowhere, the latest report – which comes from the week ending August 11th, 2024 – shakes things up once again.
This time, the surprise #1 position in Australia (and #2 in New Zealand) goes to a game arguably much more deserving of it than Nintendo’s middling party game compilation – none other than EA and Respawn’s Titanfall 2. It’s no doubt due to some sales or giveaway activity somewhere, but it’s good news nonetheless, especially for all of the folks out there that have recently picked the game up and now have the opportunity to experience one of the greatest FPS campaigns in video game history. Also cracking the charts, more likely due to bargain prices than any possible amount of good publicity from the recent film adaptation (if there is any at all), are a handful of Borderlands games, with Borderlands 3 beating Titanfall to the top spot in NZ.
