A Five-Year-Old Trailer For Star Wars: Eclipse Was Just Shown At D23

After being revealed several years ago at this point, things have been pretty quiet on the Star Wars: Eclipse front. We’ve literally seen nothing of the game since, and reports surrounding its development have been troubling at best.

That hasn’t stopped Disney from showcasing the game’s same five-year-old trailer at their D23 expo, which is going on this week.

Far from signs of life, it’s mildly encouraging that the platform was given. Insider Gaming reports regarding the game placed its release as “still years away” while noting that Quantic Dream’s parent company, NetEase, were unlikely to further invest in the project with seeing success in other projects.

This re-reveal of its original trailer could be taken as a hopeful sign for gamers eagerly awaiting this glimpse into High Republic era Star Wars, or it could just as easily be a desperate plea for the life jacket of investor interest.

The trailer reportedly did prompt cheers from fans in the room with one apparently shouting: “Eclipse is still alive, I win!”
