Today, a Sydney man is claiming on Reddit to have caught 145 Pokémon including the region-exclusive Pokémon. Unfortunately, people have been quick to pull apart his story. While he claims to have caught the 142 Pokémon himself, here in Australia, he admits that other users around the world logged into his account in order to catch the Pokémon from the USA, Europe and Japan respectively.
I won’t hide the fact that I did not catch region specifics myself.
I ask a friend in London to catch Mr. Mime near Parliament building. Tauros was a friend who happened to be in Central Park chasing Eevees. Farfethe’d was a friend who went to Japan for trip and when everyone just started. It was near Tokyo Metropolitan Government building.
I have to return the favors by finding them Kangaskhan!

Did he get banned from Pokemon go?
I wouldn't say he cheated... Pokemon has always been about working together and building communication and relationships between players locally and worldwide. I'd say he found a clever-ish way to work around spending thousands of dollars on traversing the world. Besides, catching all of them outside of the region specific Pokemon is impressive in and of itself. I mean I've been playing since the game came out and I barely have over 1/3 of them.
Good for him. He worked hard and doesn't deserve to be called a cheater if you ask me.

Hacking the APK and unlocking all the Pokemon via code, using exploits, or changing your location by tricking your phone or masking your geolocation.
To me what this fellow did is no different than asking someone to catch one for you and trade it over. I mean if they wanted people to catch 'em all why would they release the game without the ability to trade while making some 'mons region locked? That's just silly and at the end of the day people will find a way to get the ones they really want. I see nothing wrong with what he did. No hacking, no exploits, no shady business. He just asked a friend to log in and catch one for 'em.
