Here’s a story I wasn’t expecting to be writing, (but looking at Tingle now, it makes complete sense).
Nintendo’s Kensuke Tanabe has revealed in an interview with Kotaku that about eight years ago, they were working on a horror game featuring Tingle. For those that don’t know, Tingle is best known from the Legend of Zelda.
Looking back eight years ago, we were developing a horror game with Vanpool that starred Tingle as the main character,” Tanabe said, “but that project was canceled due to a variety of reasons”.
It’s safe to assume that this was probably in development for the 3DS, and honestly it’s unclear why it was cancelled. It definitely would have been a bold new direction for the character.
