A Smaller Nintendo Switch Is Apparently On The Way

Nintendo is planning to release a smaller and cheaper version of the Nintendo Switch, according to a brand new report by Nikkei.

After reporting that 32 million Switch consoles had been sold, it looks that Nintendo will look to target those that want a more portable version of the console.

Nintendo could easily cut the dock out of the package, make the screen smaller (and therefore cheaper) and potentially do away with the Joy-Con, or fix them to the console.

This isn’t surprising to me at all. Just having returned from Japan, I was surprised with how little Nintendo Switch units I saw in the wild, but still saw so many 3DS consoles out in public.

It’s pretty safe to assume that console sales will slow a little with the console in its current state, but this would be a fantastic way to reinvigorate sales.
