Hotline Miami Collection Has Released In Australia Despite Being Banned

It’s a bit of a weird one. After news that Kingdom Come Deliverance and We Happy Few had been banned by the classification board, Hotline Miami Collection has released on Nintendo Switch overnight, despite the fact that Hotline Miami 2 is still banned in Australia.

The game actually never released on other platforms, as it contains a scene that depicts sexual assault, but Devolver Digital has somehow managed to get the game across the line with a MA15+ rating.

Right now, you can pick it up for $37.50 on the Switch eShop. It’s unclear how long it will last, but as long as you buy it and download it, it should remain on your system.

If was to hazard a guess, I’d say that because it’s technically a new game (which contains the banned Hotline Miami 2) and because it’s only releasing digitally, I’d say they didn’t need to get this collection rated, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be pulled once the classification board catches wind.
