Gotham Knights Has Been Rated For The Nintendo Switch

In yet another potential outing of a new game release by the folks at the USA’s Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), it looks as though a Nintendo Switch version of WB Games Montreal’s 2022 cooperative action RPG, Gotham Knights, could be on the way.

You can see the listing here, which isn’t any different in content from what was already listed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, save for the intriguing stipulation that “in-game purchases” are limited to those existing platforms (though that could change).

Gotham Knights launched to a mix reception last year, partially because of a lack of a 60FPS performance option on consoles, which doesn’t exactly bode well for a Switch port – although now that we know the Batman Arkham Trilogy is headed to Nintendo’s hybrid portable this October 13th and includes the visually-demanding Arkham Knight it potentially seems more viable.

Should this rating on the ESRB website be an actual indication of an impending release, it could also lend more credence to recent, swirling rumours of an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation this month.

We have Gotham Knights a respectable 7.5/10 in our original review, saying “Gotham Knights is both something different and something familiar for Batman fans. While the new role-playing elements create some pacing issues throughout the story, the breadth of abilities and ease of progression stop the experience from being as tedious as it could have been.”

“Become Gotham City’s ultimate protector across the iconic Batman: Arkham Trilogy.

“Face off against notorious DC Super-Villains: The Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and more in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Step into the shadows of Batman: Arkham City’s open world, the new maximum security “home” for thugs, gangsters, and insane criminal masterminds. In Batman: Arkham Knight, tear through the streets of Gotham and take on the ultimate threat in the trilogy’s epic conclusion.

“Experience critically acclaimed gameplay & AAA original storytelling across all 3 games, PLUS all DLC, in one complete package.”
