The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom both had weapon degradation which was one of the most controversial design choices, but it seems as though this will be somewhat alleviated in the Nintendo Switch 2 versions.
These new versions of the games will be compatible with a Zelda Notes app on mobile and this will allow you to roll a daily bonus one of which is for equipment repairs in addition to the likes of meal and health boosts.
Whilst this isn’t set to change the entire game experience given you can only get it once a day, it does feel like a pretty major change to the core design principle of both games, and I’m personally surprised to see this included.
In addition to the Zelda notes app, both games will have an improved resolution and frame rates, as well as HDR support. We got to play the games and you can read our full preview HERE.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be priced at roughly $15-17 AUD or included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack for those that are subscribed.
