Earlier today InnerSloth, the developer’s of the smash-hit party game, Among Us, announced that they would not be pursuing Among Us 2 as they had previously suggested. The reason for this, says developer “PuffballsUnited” in an official blog post on the InnerSloth Site, is that they want to improve and support the existing game as much as possible before moving on to new projects.
The reason the team was contemplating a sequel was due to the outdated codebase of the original game and the difficulties they forsaw in adding new content. Now, however, after the enormously positive response the game has received in its current state, InnerSloth has committed to improving Among Us, which means going deep into the core code of the game and adding all of the planned content for Among Us 2 into it.
Here’s are some of the things Among Us players can look forward to:
For those of you who haven’t launched into the hype just yet, Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game, like Town of Salem or Deceit. The game takes place in a space-themed setting where players each take on one of two roles, most being Crewmates, and a predetermined number being Impostors. The objective for the Crewmates is to complete tasks around the map and eventually sniff out the Imposters while it is the goal of the Imposters to sneakily kill off each of the Crewmates before that happens.
Among Us is available on Windows PC via Steam here.
