Devolver Digital has revealed a brand new game from My Friend is Pedro developer, DeadToast Entertainment. It’s called Shotgun Cop Man and, like its successor, it’s a ballistic, precision platforming shooter that promises to be absolute chaos.
Assuming the role of the titular lawman, you descend into Hell’s ranks to slap cuffs on the baddest of the lot, Satan himself.
The game seems to literally marry the explosive firepower of a shooter with the twitch platforming of games like VVVVV. Not only do you use your arsenal to kill the underworld’s demons, but you use the kickback of your boomtube to propel you through the game’s hellish, spike-ridden landscape.
Just in time for Steam Next Fest, Devolver Digital have also put out a relatively meaty demo for the game which can be downloaded right now. It features nearly twenty levels, a handful of weapons, and a boss battle with new content being added daily throughout the duration of Next Fest.
Shotgun Cop Man is set to launch later this year on PC and Nintendo Switch with a modest price of USD$9.99 (local pricing to come).
