As many expected, Control Resonant made an appearance at PlayStation’s State of Play this morning, and the trailer was an immaculate tone-setter for the upcoming sequel.
Unlike the original, which followed FBC’s Jesse Faden, Resonant follows her brother, Dylan Faden, who was a focal point of the original game’s plot.
“His story drives Resonant, but as in the first game, the other sibling shapes the path,” the PlayStation blog post reads.
The Fadens’ arcs revolve around each other, and that’s what propels their shared story. Both games are, ultimately, about the siblings confronting their destinies.”
Control Resonant appears to have more of an open-zone, action-RPG structure, with a much stronger emphasis on melee combat, thanks in large part to Dylan’s shapeshifting weapon, the Aberrant.
The game is set to launch on September 24, 2026.
