Foxtel’s New Streaming Service Is Now Available On PlayStation 4

Following the launch of Foxtel Now last month, the brand new streaming service is now available to download on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. You can download the app from the PSN Store and subscribe monthly HERE.

This is ahead of the launch of the brand new season of Games of Thrones which will be available exclusively on Foxtel in Australia, this coming Monday. The benefits of Foxtel Now over Foxtel’s previous streaming efforts are the fact that Foxtel Now is marginally cheaper and streaming is now available in HD.

There’s five entry level packs which set you back $15 per month or $25 for both. Lifestyle, Locos and Kids packs are available additionally at $10 per month. You can get Foxtel Now Movies for $20 per month and Sports for an extra $29 per month.

  • I'm a huge Lifestyle Channel fan so I already had access with Foxtel Now. Here's the issues I have with this update though:

You have to re login in to your account after the update. It's a real pain in the butt because you have to use Foxtel's own keyboard screen and I have a long password.

All the assets in the app seem very low resolution, lower than the old Foxtel Now. I have a 4K TV and it's really noticeable. I thought we were supposed to be getting HD content but that doesn't seem to be the case, at least not yet.

There doesn't seem to be a way to mark and show favourite channels only now. Not a huge deal, but you have to scroll past a whole bunch of locked keys just to see the content you can access.

This is typical Foxtel. They go 75% of the way and the rest can't be buggered.
