Epic has announced that Fortnite has gone down for emergency maintenance. This could be due to major login issues that the game was facing this morning. It could also be due to the fact that the latest update literally broke the guided missile (before it was removed from the game).
The latest update also reintroduced the double pump shotgun technique, which allowed players to switch between two pump shotguns and fire them at a rapid rate, essentially getting rid of reload times. You can see the Double Pump back in action right here.
We're bringing the servers offline for emergency maintenance. We apologize for this inconvenience. We currently have no ETA on when servers will be back up. Stay updated with our status page here: https://t.co/3y0X6buriO

It’s unclear how long Fortnite is going to go down for, but you’d expect at least a few hours given the hasty tweet, and how much they need to look into.
