Season 4 of Fortnite ends tonight, which means that Season 5 is upon us. I’d argue that Epic has been teasing the beginning of this season more than any other, which means that hype is probably at the highest that it’s been.
Whilst nothing is locked in, and most certainly anything can happen (as we’ve seen in the past), I thought that I’d run you through the facts about season 5, and speculate a little bit about what’s to come.
WHEN DOES FORTNITE SEASON 5 START?
Fortnite season 5 starts at a great time for Australians. For the majority of the country, it’ll kick off today (Thursday) at 6pm. It’s likely that there will be server downtime as well as maintenance from this time, but there’s no guarantee how long it will last. As soon as the servers are back up, any changes will appear in the game.
Honestly, it could be anything. It all started a few weeks ago when a rocket started opening rifts in the map, which has grown and grown with each passing day. More have literally appeared in all areas of the map, in key locations, even consuming some pretty iconic items from the map. Could this be a sign that a new map is coming and this map is going to be sent elsewhere?
It’s likely that whether we get a new map or just some significant change to this map that time travel or moments through history will play a big part. This includes a coach that popped up out of nowhere in the map, that was clearly from another era.
