We’ve long known what the Xbox Series X smart delivery and optimised for Xbox Series X indicators will look like, but for the most-part, the way of telling whether a PS4 game will be PS5 enhanced has been unknown.
With the reveal of Immortals Fenyx Rising earlier today, we now have a look at what the ‘PS5 Upgrade Available’ indicator will look like on PS4 box art. It’s quite small, and relegated to the bottom of the box, whilst it’s much more prominent on the Xbox box art.
There’s still quite a bit we don’t know in regards to how many PS4 games will get this treatment. We know that Ubisoft will offer free PS5 upgrades for those that purchase PS4 games like Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and EA for games such as FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21, but we still don’t know if Sony will be offering free PS5 upgrades for games like The Last Of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima.
Still, this definitely gives us a better picture of how we’ll know whether a PS4 game will be PS5 enhanced or not
