EB Games has confirmed that it is delaying the last bunch of PS5 and PS5 Digital Pre-orders from August that were due for delivery by the end of November. This delay is primarily affecting digital consoles, which are affected by a an international shipping delay.
Those who are in the delayed pile should have received a text message in the last 24 hours. Those who ordered Digital PS5s in the August batch will now have to wait until 2022, or can opt to choose to change their pre-order to a regular PS5 which will arrive in December. Those that ordered a regular PS5 will now hopefully get their console in December instead of November.
The message from EB Games reads:
“Due to international shipping delays your PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console preorder is now arriving in 2022. This survey is for you to advise what change (if any) you would like to make to your preorder.
Please complete this survey by 12pm AEDT Friday 12th November 2021.
Please note this survey link is unique to your mobile number once you Submit Form no changes can be made.
If you do not complete this survey by the above deadline your PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console preorder is still secure and will be delivered in 2022.”
The three options that EB games is providing are below:
- I would like to keep my PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console preorder and understand it will be delivered in 2022
- I would like to upgrade my PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console preorder to a PlayStation 5 Disc console for the new price of $749.95 and understand it will be delivered in December 2021
- I would like to cancel my PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console preorder and collect my refund instore
This is obviously quite a big deal to those who were hoping to get a PS5 before Christmas and may now have to wait until next year.
