Rockstar Games Has Apologised For Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition’s Technical Issues

Over a week since it launched on multiple platforms (and was subsequently removed from one), Rockstar Games has issued an apology for the myriad technical issues that users have experienced in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

The apology note, which you can read in full here, admits that “The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

Rockstar Games goes on to say that it will address these issues, without going into specifics about which issues are being discussed, through Title Updates going forward. The first of these is said to arrive in the coming days. The original PC versions of the three games will also be returning so that fans have the option of playing the classic versions instead, and those who bought the Definitive Editions on PC will have the originals added to their library at no extra charge.
