It’s now been confirmed that at launch at least, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a single player game with no elements of online or multiplayer.
It started to become clear that Grand Theft Auto 6 wouldn’t have an online portion at launch in Rockstar’s post about pre-orders going live tonight ‘Grand Theft Auto VI is a single player experience’, but PlayStation has since uploaded a listing on its website for the game confirming the fact.
In an FAQ on the PlayStation website, it’s asked if Grand Theft Auto 6 will have any multiplayer modes of features and the response says: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.”
It’s unclear if Grand Theft Auto Online will continue to be its own thing with elements of Grand Theft Auto 6 added in over time, or what will happen, but there’s no way Rockstar will stray too far from an online experience in Grand Theft Auto.
