Deadline is reporting that PlayStation Productions is producing a live-action God of War TV show that is in the final stages of being signed off at Amazon.
The series is being penned by The Expanse Creators Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby as well as The Wheel of Time executive Rafe Judkins.
This would mark another one of PlayStation’s franchises coming to the big screen with Uncharted, Twisted Metal and The Last Of Us all getting screen adaptions in recent times.
We’ll keep you posted on when this officially gets signed off, but really it’s a no brainer that the popular God of War franchise gets a TV adaption.
In our review of the Uncharted movie, Brodie said that “As the first big tentpole for PlayStation Productions, Uncharted feels like an overconfident first step onto uneven ground. It isn’t likely to land for the series’ fanbase, and everything else it does is so ‘by-the-numbers,’ it becomes hard work to buy into the stakes, the spectacle, and the characters—which is surprising because Naughty Dog always made it seem effortless.”
