Activision has announced that Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the 2018 trio of classic Spyro the Dragon remasters, has officially passed a massive sales milestone right on the cusp of the series’ 25th Anniversary.
The trilogy, which brings together the first three games in the series from the PS1, has now sold-through more than 10 million units globally according to the publisher, and with the 25-year anniversary approaching very soon on September 9th, Activision has told fans to keep an eye on its social media accounts for more “celebrations.”
With huge sales numbers like this, though it didn’t hit that mark quite as quickly as the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy, there could be hope for a full-fledged sequel ala Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. At the very least, we reckon you’ll probably see Spyro pop up in Toys For Bob’s more recent release, Crash Team Rumble. Would it be too much to hope for a new-gen version of the Reignited Trilogy in 60FPS? Probably, but I’ll be all over it if that happens.
Kicking off our special #Spyroversary month with an extra special celebration. Shout out to the Spyro community for hitting this HUGE milestone. ? pic.twitter.com/TrzoQyOVmu

In our own review of Spyro Reignited Trilogy in 2018 we scored the game a massive 9/10, saying “Taking off the nostalgia goggles for a moment, Toys For Bob have done a brilliant job in revamping a classic trilogy of games. In updating the visuals and tweaking the controls, they’ve stayed true to the source material and crafted an experience so involving that you’d be forgiven for thinking this was a brand new game. Initial viewings had me concerned that they might not be able to live up to the hype; but on playing the game, for the briefest moment I was eight years old again – and I enjoyed every minute of it.”
