Although it was originally slated to launch on PS5 and PC at some point this year, Helldivers 2 debuted a new trailer at this morning’s PlayStation State of Play showcase along with a firm release date, putting its launch into next year on February 8th.
It’s not too much longer of a wait, and honestly puts the game in much more calendar-friendly territory with how stacked the back quarter of this year is, so it’s hard to argue an early 2024 launch is anything but a good thing.
The new gameplay trailer also gives us another look at just how badass this game is shaping up to be, showing off some exhilarating co-operative gameplay:

Thanks to a release date announcement and some more details on the PlayStation Blog we also now know a bit more about the game’s various editions, with digital pre-orders soon to go live on the PlayStation Store. Keen Helldivers will be able to choose between a Standard Edition and Super Citizen Edition, with the latter including a bunch of extra digital in-game goodies – including an entire mini-game available to play in your shop while you wait for your mates in a lobby.
