Sony Has Shown Off The PS5 Slim Deep Earth Collection Cover Plates For The First Time

They look hot.

Sony might not have had any earth-shattering PlayStation news to share at CES 2024, but it did bring with it a first look at some of the new cover plate designs for the revised, slimmer PS5 console.

The three new colour ways are part of the Deep Earth collection which launched for the original PS5 model last year in the Cobalt Blue and Volcanic Red options, with the third Sterling Silver still yet to arrive on January 26th (you can pre-order the cover plate and matching DualSense controller right here). Tech outlet Notebook Check managed to snap and share some photos of the PS5 Slim versions of the covers which do look pretty snazzy:

We also know that a matte black version of the PS5 Slim cover plates is on the way for those that aren’t a fan of the combination of matte and glossy white panels that come with the console.

If you’re thinking about picking up one of the newer model PS5 consoles, you can grab it from the below:

You can read our review of the PS5 Slim here, where we said “For the vast majority of existing PS5 owners, the new slimmer model isn’t going to inspire any real need for an upgrade – but that’s hardly the point. PlayStation’s not only taken the opportunity to squeeze the immense size of the console down to a more reasonable volume, but added some welcome improvements along the way, meaning those looking to pick up a PS5 for the first time or add another to their household are getting an even better version of an already-great machine.”
