A New Crash/Spyro Crossover Game Was Apparently Cancelled In Favour Of Live Service Games

Damn!

It’s been long rumoured that a new Crash Bandicoot was in the works, and we now have our first details on what was seemingly the game in the series by gaming historian YouTube, Liam Robertson.

It’s claimed that the game was to be a direct sequel to Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time with one of the concepts seeing Crash teaming up with Spyro following an interdimensional threat. It’s said that both Crash and Spyro were intended to be the two playable characters.

This also follows the rumours that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game was pitched, but show down in favour of Activision wanting to go in the direction of live service games.

The entire video lasts about an hour, and as all of other of Robertson’s videos, is a fascinating watch full of concept art and other little tidbits, so I highly recommend going and watching it below:

Now that Xbox owns Activision, I definitely think we’ll see another Crash/Spyro game in the future as it just makes sense, but for now, it seems to be unfortunate news.
