The PS5 Pro release date is just over a week away and Insomniac has detailed how it will utilise the hardware for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
The Performance mode on Pro will target 60 FPS whilst retaining the same graphical image quality of Fidelity mode on the original console thanks to PSSR technology. This is what Insomniac is recommending for most players.
There’s a brand new Fidelity mode on pro that will target 30 FPS but will bring in a bunch of new ray-tracing features with pedestrian and traffic density increased in some areas and fine hair detail also being increased. Those that have a 120hz/VRR compatible display will be able to take advantage of higher frame rates as well.
On the PS5 Pro, players will also have access to ray-tracing toggles which are included for RT Key Light Shadows which can be turned to off (performance) or on (fidelity), ray-tracing reflections and interiors which can be turned to medium (performance) and high (fidelity) and ambience occlusion which can be turned to off (performance) and high (fidelity).
Interestingly enough, for Ratchet & ClankL Rift Apart, there is a fix for missing fur wetness in some cutscenes for a bug that was introduced in a previous patch as well.
There’s over 70 games with PS5 Pro support confirmed now and you can find the full list HERE.
The PS5 Pro will release on November 7th. It’s currently available for pre-order on Amazon HERE
