After its reveal at yesterday’s The Game Awards event, it has been confirmed that The Witcher 4 will still feature Geralt of Rivia in one way or another. Although he isn’t set to be playable, with Ciri taking over as the titular Witcher in this new trilogy, IGN has confirmed that the loveable grump from the first three games will return.
It came directly from CD Projekt themselves, who said: “Geralt will appear in the game, but we don’t want to spoil his role precisely. You’ll have to wait to learn more for now.”
Not only that, but that’s Doug Cockle popping up at the end of the trailer on stream with his unmistakable gravelly tones claiming: “Time for a new saga, see you on the path.” The line doesn’t seem to be audible in uploads of the trailer on YouTube.
The Witcher 4 currently has no scheduled release date.
