Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is today reporting (with confirmation from Sony) that Bluepoint Studios as well as Bend Studios were both working on live-service games for PlayStation that have now been cancelled.
“Sony Group Corp.’s PlayStation has canceled previously unannounced games at two of its top subsidiaries, the company said Thursday.” said a report by Bloomberg.
Jason goes on to report (not confirmed by Sony) that Bluepoint’s game was in-fact a live-service God Of War game that had been in development for several years. Bluepoint were behind several remakes including Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls and this was set to be their big first original game, so this is disappointing.

It’s unclear what game Bend were working on, although this is obviously devastating for that studio after coming from Days Gone and not being allowed to work on a sequel.
Sony said in a memo to staff (confirmed by Bloomberg) that it is “working closely with Bend and Bluepoint to determine what are the next projects and plan to do everything we can to ensure there is minimal business impact.”
