Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s Release Date Has Been Officially Confirmed

And the apes have escaped too, to make matters worse.

PlayStation has confirmed that Metal Gear Sold Delta: Snake Eater will release on August 28th along with the Snake vs Monkey mode.

ORIGINAL STORY: Finally putting many sources of rumour and speculation to rest, Konami has (accidently) revealed the release date for their upcoming remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 through the PlayStation app.

Titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the game is a full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3. The game takes place before all of the other games, chronicling the origins of Big Boss, though he’s just called Naked Snake in this game.

The trailer revealed many scenes from the original game, except redone in Unreal Engine 5 visuals, and confirms a release date.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is officially releasing on August 28th 2025.

The trailer also reveals the return of the Snake vs. Monkey mode too, which had Snake donning banana camouflage and a unique pistol to hunt down a whole bunch of monkeys from the Ape Escape games.

The mode was previously included in the PS2 release of the game, but was subsequently removed from the Master Collection versions of the game as Ape Escape was a property that belonged to Sony.

While it’s not confirmed just yet, it’s safe to assume that Snake vs. Monkey will remain an exclusive to the PlayStation version of the game, though we’re still waiting on confirmation.

Still, it’s nice to finally have a release date. Could it be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, as rumoured? We’ll have to wait and see.
