Ever since Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was announced, I was shocked that it didn’t have a third-person mode, where you could actually see the Na’vi, and that’s finally being fixed just in time for the next movie.

On December 5th, a free update will bring third-person mode as well as New Game+ to the game allowing you to change between first and third person perspectives with the chance of a button to not only see the iconic Na’vi but also take in the sights of the game.

Similarly, those that have finished the game will be able to jump into New Game+ which will let you keep all of your inventory and skills as you play through the game again (maybe in third-person this time).

This will apply to the base game as well as the two post-launch story packs including the below:

  • The Sky Breaker, where players join the great Na’vi games and witness the Zakru migration.
  • Secrets of the Spires, introducing a stunning mountainous region designed to elevate the thrill of banshee flight.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available on Amazon for $36 with free shipping. We gave the game a 7/10 in our review saying: “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora successfully brings the world of Pandora to video games in a big way. It’s lush and vibrant and without a doubt one of the most luxuriant open worlds that Ubisoft has ever created. Its gameplay, on the other hand, is lacking the spark that makes great open worlds sing. Fans of the franchise will absolutely adore exploring everything this previously unexplored side of Pandora has to offer, just don’t expect it to reinvent the wheel.”
