The New 2TB Xbox Expansion Drive Costs Almost As Much As An Xbox Series X

Xbox and Seagate have expanded their offering of super-fast, easy to install expansion drives for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with a 2TB variant coming to Australia on December 10.

EB Games has finally added the new product to their website for purchase, and as expected the doubled capacity also comes with double the asking price compared to the $350 1TB expansion drive.

At an eye-watering $699, it’s hard to see too many picking this one up in the near future – especially when it’s just $50 shy of the retail price of the Xbox Series X console itself, and a full $200 more expensive than the Xbox Series S.

Incidentally, EB Games is also offering a trade deal for users to trade up their 1TB drive to the 2TB one, bringing the price down to a still-huge $529:
