Xbox has officially lifted the lid on at least one of the games coming to Xbox Game Pass next month, stopping short of announcing its usually first full batch but pretty much solidifying early leaks of August’s initial line-up.
The confirmed game is Mafia: Definitive Edition, the 2020 remake of the iconic 2002 original, helmed by Hangar 13 and 2K. Mafia: Definitive Edition is going to arrive for subscribers on August 13th.

Probably more interesting, is this lends a ton of weight to a series of leaks of potential Game Pass games for August, which included this game along with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and a handful of others. Here’s what those games are believed to be (via Reddit).
- Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato – August 6th
- Creatures of Ava – August 7th
- Crash N Sane Trilogy – August 8th
- Mafia: Definitive Edition – August 13th
- Wargroove 2 – August 15th
- Atlas Fallen – August 22nd
- Core Keeper – August 27th
No doubt we’ll have confirmation soon enough of the full, official first batch of Game Pass games for August, and we’ll update when we do!
We gave Mafia: Definitive Edition a healthy 8/10 in our review back at launch, with Toby saying, “Hangar 13’s remake of Mafia is great. The story is as interesting as ever, and only minor technical issues take away from what is otherwise a welcome reintroduction to Tommy Angelo and the Salieri crew. “
