Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut Is Coming To PC

Cutting edge.

Its arrival has been rumoured and anticipated for the longest time now, but it’s finally real and happening – Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PC on May 16th.

Once again, PlayStation has tapped the talent of Nixxes Software to bring one of its consoles exclusives to the platform, a feat which it seems has been a nice challenge as Nixxes reveals in a PlayStation Blog post that it’s spent the past year bringing developer Sucker Punch’s engine technology across to PC.

The result will be arguably the definitive version of the Director’s Cut of the game, sporting unlocked frame rates, a variety of graphics settings and presets, customisable mouse and keyboard controls, support for numerous controllers including DualSense and ultrawide monitor support all the way up to 48:9 for the bougie players out there with triple-display setups.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC will also pack support for both NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 with frame generation and upscaling features to really boost performance or image quality even further on a variety of rigs.

“We’re proud to announce that our friends and partners over at Nixxes are bringing Ghost of Tsushima to PC,” writes Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming in the post. “This is a first for Sucker Punch – all our previous work is console-exclusive, so we are excited about all this and Nixxes was the right team to do this project. With them on board, we knew the results would be nothing short of amazing! Now excuse me as I go order a Super Ultra Wide monitor!”

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC is available to wishlist or pre-purchase now on Steam or the Epic Games Store, and will come with bonus early unlocks of the New Game+ horse, Traveller’s Attire and Broken Armour Dyes for those that pre-purchase.

I gave Ghost of Tsushima, in its Director’s Cut form, a 9/10 in my review back in 2021, saying “Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut and in particular the Iki Island expansion does a great job at giving players more of what made the game’s original release special. The brisk new adventure takes Jin Sakai on a journey of reflection and reconciliation that contains plenty of beautiful, memorable moments and some very cool new gear to play with. The updates made for its native PS5 release do feel a touch slim given that they come at an added cost, but they go a long way to refining and enhancing the experience. A great game made better, then, and a fantastic excuse to spend dozens more hours in Photo Mode.”
