Sony Refused Cross-Platform Play For Minecraft

Apart of Microsoft’s big Minecraft reveal included the fact that the game is going to be diving deep into the cross-play features gamers have long wanted from the franchise. Microsoft announced that its ‘Better Together’ update will bring more platforms into the cross-platform and saved-data fold, including Windows 10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, virtual reality and mobile.

The big one missing from that list, obviously, is PlayStation. And now we know why.

Jez Corden, a blogger for Windows Central, tweeted the reason not long ago, stating that Sony flat out refused to be involved.

For the players, indeed.
