Kicking off its 10-year partnership with NVIDIA and commitment to bring its games to more third-party streaming services, Xbox has announced the first run of its first-party published PC games to come to NVIDIA’s cloud service, GeForce NOW.
It all starts right now with Gears 5, and continues on May 25th with the introduction of Deathloop, Grounded and Pentiment. Xbox says it’ll continue to add more of its content to the GeForce NOW on a regular basis, which will be highlighted in NVIDIA’s own GFN Thursday blog updates.
This means NVIDIA GeForce NOW subscribers will be able to stream Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda games purchased through Steam or Epic Games Store on their PC, Mac, NVIDIA Shield TV, Android devices, or anything else that supports the service via the play.geforcenow.com portal. Games acquired through the Xbox Store/Game Pass will presumably continue to be offered through Microsoft’s own streaming service.
As for Activision Blizzard games, Xbox says it remains committed to releasing future PC titles from the publisher when (if?) its acquisition closes.

“This is the first in a series of partnerships we’re activating to make our PC games available to players globally through a variety of cloud gaming services, starting with NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and with Boosteroid, Ubitus, EE and Nware in the future,” the Xbox Wire blog post reads. “We remain committed to releasing current titles from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, and future Activision Blizzard PC games once Microsoft’s acquisition closes.
“Delivering our content through more partners and cloud gaming services puts players at the centre, empowering them to play the games they want, with the people they want, on the devices they want. NVIDIA has been an outstanding partner for team Xbox over the years, and we can’t wait to see their devoted fans discover and play their next favourite PC games from Xbox.”
The release says that these titles will be available to “NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud gaming members in the U.K., the U.S., the European Union and around the world,” which presumably includes Australians subscribed through Pentanet, but we’ll keep an eye on how that develops.
